Join us for a fun and creative Bear Needle Felting Class where you’ll learn to sculpt your very own bear from roving—a soft, natural fiber produced during the process of making spun yarn. Needle felting involves using a barbed needle to repeatedly poke the roving, tangling the fibers to create a firm, compact shape. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the basics of needle felting a three-dimensional object, including how to create a core shape, apply an outer color, build arms and feet, and craft facial features. Each participant will choose their own colors and design a unique bear, with the option to add "bear accessories" like hats or scarves as time permits.
Needle felting is easy to learn, surprisingly relaxing, and a great way to let your imagination soar. No two bears will be alike, and that’s all part of the fun! Whether you’re a beginner or have some felting experience, this class has something for everyone. Beginners can opt for a simpler bear design to focus on mastering the basics, while more experienced felters can enjoy tackling a more detailed creation.
All materials are included in the class fee, as well as felting foam and needles to use during class. If you fall in love with needle felting, supplies will also be available for purchase so you can continue creating at home.
Class will begin at 1pm and finish about 4pm.
This class is designed for participants ages 16 and older. Youth ages 12–15 are welcome to attend when registered with an adult companion who is also enrolled in the class.
