In this needle felting class you'll be learning to sculpt a bunny out of roving (produced during the process of making spun yarn from wool fleece). In this class you will learn the basics of needle felting a three dimensional object, how to create a core shape, apply an outer color, ears, arms, and legs, if desired, as well as create facial features. Students can choose different colors and each will design their own unique bunny rabbit. As time allows, students can needle felt "bunny accessories" such as hats, scarves, etc.
WHAT IS NEEDLE FELTING?
Needle felting is the process of using a barbed needle to repeatedly jab wool causing the fiber to tangle and become more compact as you create two or three dimensional object.
SKILL LEVEL
This class is for all skill levels. There will be a simple design option for those that have never needle felted, which will allow beginners to learn and understand the process of needle felting without some of the details that those with experience may want to tackle. For others with some felting experience, techniques for making arms, legs, and accessories will be taught. These techniques will enable you to make other three dimensional figures.
INCLUDED IN FEE
Cost of class includes materials and use of felting tools needed for project during class. Felting Supplies are also available to purchase should you want to do more needle felting at home.
