This Alpaca Yarn is mill spun from 100% suri alpaca fiber and is Lopi style, meaning it's a lightly spun single ply yarn. It is luxuriously soft, a dream to work with, and you will feel quick gratification using this bulky weight yarn that knits/crochets up quickly into a finished project! This yarn color is called "Saddle" and is a natural color. The fiber used was grown by the alpacas that live at our farm, Alpaca Meadows, in Mansfield, Ohio, and several other local farms. Stramba Farm and Fiber Mill, an artisan mill, in Pennsylvania did the processing of this beautiful yarn.

Alpaca Fiber is one of the world's rarest natural fibers. Luxuriously soft, exceptionally light, and warmer than wool, alpaca fiber is abrasion resistant and maintains its insulating properties even when wet. It is considered by many to be a "miracle fiber". You will definitely enjoy working with it, and wearing it!
WHAT ARE SURI ALPACAS?
Suri alpacas are distinguished in the camelid family by their unique fiber characters. The fiber grows parallel to the body while hanging in long, separate, distinctive locks. Its artistic style enhances the graceful appearance of the animal compared to the soft, wooly look of huacaya alpacas. Suri fiber locks, made up of high-luster fibers, drape down the sides of the body in a twisted or flat form of various size. Suri fiber has a slick hand and softness with an exquisite luster.
