The Louet S17 Spinning Wheel is a versatile and affordable choice for both beginner and experienced spinners. Now available with a Double Treadle option, this wheel offers enhanced comfort and efficiency. The S17 comes partially assembled with 3 bobbins, a built-in lazy kate, and a standard flyer. Its adaptable design allows you to grow with your wheel, adding an Art Yarn flyer, bulky bobbins, or a High-Speed flyer for fine spinning.

Assembly is quick and easy, with pre-assembled bobbins and sanded, rounded wood edges. The unfinished wood allows you to customize your wheel with lacquer, stain, or paint to reflect your personal style. Note that the original S17 skein winder does not fit the new version due to the thicker back post, but the Louet stand-alone skein winder is compatible.

The S17 features a single belt bobbin drive with an adjustable flyer brake to regulate tension, making it easy to learn and ideal for spinning thicker yarns. The bobbins have three settings for different spinning speeds or ratios. With various bobbins and flyers, Louet spinning wheels can produce every kind of yarn, from coarse wool to fine silks. A High-Speed Set is also available for spinning very fine yarns.

The wheel is designed to turn freely and quietly, using maintenance-free ball bearings in the main hub and at the footman connection—no lubrication required. The Louet S17 is constructed from laminated hardwood with a birch exterior surface, ensuring durability and smooth performance.
