This 8-ounce package contains raw alpaca fiber, sometimes blended with Mohair or Llama, depending on what’s available. This fiber is considered seconds and thirds—shorter neck, belly, and leg fiber, rather than the prime blanket fleece. It's soft, versatile, and ideal for a variety of creative and practical uses.
Perfect as a core for needle felting projects, this fiber also works well for stuffing pet beds, pillows, craft projects, or filling bird nesting balls. It may include a mix of Suri and Huacaya fiber, and can vary in color—solid white, dark shades, or multi-colored—based on what we have on hand.
LIGHTLY WASHED This fiber has been lightly cleaned, but may contain small amounts of vegetable matter (VM), which typically falls out during use. The fiber remains in lock form, so if you're using it for stuffing, consider pulling locks apart, running it through a picker, or carding to create a smoother fill.
PET FRIENDLY Dogs and cats especially love beds stuffed with alpaca fiber—soft, breathable, and naturally insulating.
HOME GROWN This fiber was grown by our alpacas right here at Alpaca Meadows in Mansfield, Ohio.
