Hand carders are used in pairs to prepare fiber for spinning or to blend fibers to create personalized color or fiber blends. These curved backhand carders are lightweight and easy to hold. They produce small rolags, punis, or mini batts for woolen style spinning.

Carding cloth on hand cards is considered Fine at 108 PPSI (points per square inch), also referred to as TPI (teeth per inch). They work well for Cotton and other short staple fibers.
