Espiral Alpaca Yarn by The Alpaca Yarn Company is 100% alpaca yarn for knitting or crochet in a worsted weight. This alpaca yarn is sumptuously soft and a delight with which to work. Each skein is different and unique in it’s beauty, giving the look of a random handspun skein, some in natural colors and some in those same colors that have been over-dyed. Each skein knits or crochets up in it’s own surprising way. Each 3.5 Ounces (100g) skein is approximately 165 yards. The gauge is approximately 20 st / 4″ (5 st/1″) using US #8 (5.0mm) needles or hook size H-8.
There are three natural blends. Arequipa is a mix of brown/tan/cream, Barranca is a mix of black/gray/cream, and Cusco is a mixture of all the natural shades.
The warm shades (#01-06) are dyed over Arequipa (browns and tans), the cool shades (#07-12) are dyed over Barranca (black and gray) and our most popular shades 66-68 are dyed over Cusco.
