This pretty pillow features a contented silver gray cat adorned in pastel colors and surrounded by flowers. Alpaca wool roving was used for this design needle felted onto a light orange upholstery fabric bordered with a rust colored fabric with flecks of the same light orange. A coordinating fabric is used for the back. The pillow measures approximately 16" x 16" and is stuffed with polyester fiber fill. What is Needle Felting?

Needle felting is the process of repeatedly pushing a barbed needle into a tuft of fiber, agitating, compressing, and locking the fiber together into a more dense mass of fiber. The entire process involves hours of time and lots of poking with a felting needle to shape and create the finished design. Each felted piece is a labor of love.
