Hand-dyed mohair fiber from our Angora goat, Mike, in a black color. This soft, lustrous mohair averages approximately 5 inches in length and is ideal for doll hair, spinning, felting, weaving, and textured fiber arts projects.

This mohair was hand dyed using Gaywool dyes, washed, and carefully hand picked to remove most vegetable matter. Because the fiber is picked apart during cleaning, some of the original lock structure is opened up, resulting in a mix of defined curls and soft, fluffy fiber, as shown in the photos.

Because this is a natural animal fiber that has been washed and hand dyed, some variation in lock structure, texture, and color is normal. A soft halo or slight fuzzing can occur during processing, separating, and shipping. Tiny bits of vegetable matter may remain but usually pick out easily by hand.

Every effort is made to photograph the color accurately, though colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and lighting conditions.

If the fiber becomes compressed during shipping, lightly mist with water and gently separate and fluff with your fingers.
