These alpacas represent the Huacaya, one of the two alpaca breeds. Huacayas are known for their fluffy, teddy-bear appearance and are the more common breed of alpaca.

Because each Standing Alpaca is individually handmade, no two are exactly alike. Slight variations in color, expression, shape, and appearance are part of what makes each one unique. The alpaca you receive may vary slightly from those pictured.

About the Alpaca Fur
No alpacas are killed for their fur. These Standing Alpacas are made from natural alpaca pelts obtained when young alpacas die from natural causes. Rather than allowing this beautiful natural material to go to waste, the pelts are purchased from indigenous farmers, providing them with some financial return following the loss of an animal from their herd.
