Fluffy and soft, these handmade 12" Standing Suri Alpacas are irresistible! 100% Suri Alpaca. Suris are the rarer of the two types of alpacas. The Suri alpaca has unique fiber characteristics that distinguish it from the rest of the camelid family. Unlike the soft fuzzy look of the Huacaya alpaca, the Suri’s long, separate, distinctive locks are comprised of twisted or flat fibers that drape down the sides of these elegant animals.

Each is handmade and unique so may look slightly different from the Suri Alpacas represented in the pictures.

Alpacas are not killed for their fur. These Alpacas are made from the fur of young alpacas which have unfortunately died through natural causes. Rather than waste such luxurious fiber, alpaca pelts are purchased from indigenous farmers who receive a monetary return on the loss of income caused by the death of one of the herd.
