This listing is for 2 ounces of prime Suri Alpaca fiber in a warm medium brown, as classified by The Alpaca Registry Color Chart. Grown by a rescued alpaca named Margo, this fiber was carefully skirted and prewashed—ready to card, blend, or spin directly from the locks.
The fiber measures about 4 inches long and comes from the blanket area of the alpaca, known for being the finest and most uniform part of the fleece. It spins into a silky, strong yarn with beautiful drape, or can be used for felting, weaving, doll hair, and other fiber art projects.
Perfect for blending with silk, seacell, tencel, Cormo, Merino, kid mohair, or Rambouillet—just 10% adds shine and texture.
💡 Tip for doll makers: Find the tips of the locks (not the cut ends) and gently pull away from rest of fleece to use as realistic doll hair.
Fiber has been prewashed in soapy water and rinsed multiple times. Though picked through for debris, small bits of hay or straw may remain and are easily removed as you work.
Grown with care at our farm in Mansfield, Ohio.
