This listing is for 1.5 pounds of Suri Alpaca Neck Fiber. It is raw fiber, straight from the alpaca, has not been skirted or washed. It varies in length up to 6", though there will be various lengths due to where on the alpaca it has been cut.
It can be skirted, washed, carded and spun into a lovely, silky, lightweight yarn. Suri spins into a good, strong, drapey yarn. It can be blended with other fibers, or spun right from the locks for a textured art yarn. It can be used in bird nesting balls, felted into dryer balls, and used in other craft projects. If the length is adequate, doll markers can use suri fiber for doll hair. The locks have been left undisturbed so they can be brushed out individually, if required.
This soft lustrous suri fiber is considered white according to The Alpaca Registry color chart, and will brighten considerably when washed. It can also easily be dyed other colors.
