Discover the art of wet felting in this Mitten Wet Felting Class, where you'll create your own cozy and functional felted mittens from natural fiber. In this hands-on, three-hour workshop, you'll learn the entire process—from creating a pattern and preparing the fiber to felting, shaping, and finishing a pair of mittens custom fit to your own hands.

Wet felting is one of several methods used to create felt from alpaca and other animal fibers. Warm soapy water is applied to layers of fiber placed at right angles to one another, then repeated agitation and compression cause the fibers to interlock into a sturdy yet soft fabric.

The real magic happens when we felt around a resist. You'll be amazed at how a mass of colorful fiber transforms into a wearable article of clothing—no knitting or crocheting required! By the end of class, you'll have a pair of the warmest mittens you've ever worn, ready for crisp fall days, winter adventures, or thoughtful handmade gifts.

Whether you're new to wet felting or looking to expand your skills, this class is perfect for all skill levels. You'll learn:

Age Guidelines

This class is designed for participants ages 16 and older. Youth ages 12–15 are welcome to attend when registered with an adult companion who is also enrolled in the class.
